I had gotten the Spoon Center Brace Bar Installed including suspension alignment, as such what I felt may be subject to a combination of factors from both.
The Spoon Center Brace for the S2000 part number is 40540-AP1-000. Accordingly it would fit the AP1 models of the S2000 as well as the AP2.
Firstly, I quickly noticed that the part had a serial number which was different from the Spoon Rigid Collars I had previously gotten installed with the Ohlins. This was definitely interesting as probably it has something to do with those certified Spoon Cars that I have seen previously on Youtube.
It definitely had a good weight to the part and from what I can determine, it is a pretty solid construction.
The center brace bar replaces, what I would call a flimsy bar that comes stock with the S2000. Given the difference in construction, I’m pretty sure the center brace would play a bigger role in chasis rigidity comparatively.
I felt that the rear was slightly more planted in corners where I was having difficulty to keep it in check such as turn 4 & 15. However this could be from the alignment that was done as well prior to the track day.
One noticeable difference before this was installed and alignment was done was the S2000’s inability to clear speed bumps, after which it was able to without bottom scrapping on nearly all except for the tallest of speed bumps in Singapore. Whether chasis rigidity contributed to this, I definitely can’t say.
